Known popularly as Kaka, Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is a famed footballer and plays for Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team. Born in Brasilia, Brazil on April 22, 1982, Kaka is considered to be one of the best footballers of his time, with incomparable style and talent on the field. At the age of 15 he signed a professional contract with the Sao Paulo football team, where he played from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, Kaka signed with the Italian club AC Milan, where he soon became a much valued part of the team. He stayed with Milan for 6 years until 2009, when he was signed on to play for the Spanish football club Real Madrid.
Kaka Made his FIFA World Cup Debut in 2006, when Brazil played against Croatia. Kaka scored his first (and only) goal in the tournament that match and was also named Man of the Match.
Kaka is not just famous for his brilliant work on the football field as he is also a well-known humanitarian and has done a lot to fight poverty. In 2004 he became an Ambassador of the UNICEF food programme.
Some of the awards he has received include the UEFA Champions League Best Midfielder in 2005, UEFA Champions League Top Score in 2006-07 and Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007. He was also inducted in the Maracana Hall Of Fame in 2008 and won the FIFA Confederations Cup Golden Ball in 2009.
