Importance of Yoga

The youth of Today is the future of tomorrow. They are the cream of the society and country. The development of any nation depends upon its youth power. It is vital to nurture them with good attitude, behavior and values for their holistic development. Yoga can play a very important role in our life for cultivating the above mentioned qualities.

Yoga is a way of life, a system of thought and practice. It has a primary reference to the philosophical system that flows from the teachings of ancient Indian yogic philosopher Patanjali. It is a philosophy of life to support the final goal of life. Yoga is a discipline, based on meticulous practice and requires very modest infrastructure and money. Yogic education is the demand of the times as it can help to create a healthy society. It has the power of keeping the students away from bad influences. It shapes both mind and body. The oldest fitness regime existing in the world, it is a process of self improvement.

The effect of yoga are slow and gradual but it alone can develop the head, heart as well as hand and lead one to perfection.

According to medical scientist, yoga therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrinal system, which directly influence all the other organs of the body. It can bring change in the temperament. It can help us cope with every sort of stress including examination stress. Yoga is an ancient science and technique and forgotten therapy which is being revived in this modern era. All we need to do is, practice it with consistence. Yoga’s importance in a man’s life can be very well summed up in this quote of Sri Aurbindo, “ All life is Yoga”
