David Beckham


David Beckham is one of the most recognizable figures in international football. He was born on May 2, 1975 at Leytonstone, London. He currently plays for the American soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy, as a midfielder. He also plays for the national England team. Beckham was captain of the England team from 2000 to 2006. Since then, he has continued to play for his country.
Beckham began his career when he signed up to play for the football club Manchester United. He made his ManU debut at the young age of 17, in 1992. During his time with ManU, the team won the Premier League si times, the FA Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League once, in 1999. In 2003, Beckham left Manchester United and signed up for the Spanish football club Real Madrid. He played for Real for four seasons.
In 2007, David Beckham left Real Madrid and signed a 5-year contract with Los Angeles Galaxy. The Contract made him the highest paid player in MLS history till then.
David Beckham’s career in football has so far been incredibly successful. He is a two-time runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year. He was also named BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2001, ESPY Best Male Soccer player in 2004 and ESPY Best Player in 2008. He was also inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
