CHARLES MARTIN ‘CHUCK’ JONES (1912-2002), is the genius behind a number of famous cartoon characters. Wile E. Coyote, Pepe Le Pew, Marvin the Martian, Road Runner, Sam Sheepdog and sniffles are amoung his popular creations. He is also known for his works on world-famous cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig.

Jones first tried to emulate the Walt Disney cartoons, but the came into his own when he started using “limited animation’. This a style that used abstract art and symbolism. Jones also worked with Dr.Suuss and adapted a number of his books to animated movies, including How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Chuck Jones was nominated eight times for an Oscar and won thrice: for So Much for So Little, For Scent-imental Reasons and The Dot and the Line. He also received an Honorary Oscar in 1996 for his industry and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame.
