DOUGLAS ERWIN BOLLINGER is an international cricket player. The 30-year-old Australian was born in New South Wales. One of the most charismatic players in the Australian team, Bollinger started playing cricket at the age of 15. He made his debut for New South Wales in the 2002-03 season. An average of 28.32 and 27 wickets in domestic ODIs got him selected in Australia’s 30- man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006. However, he failed to make the cut then.

Bollinger finally made his Test debut for Australia in 2009, in which he took two wickets and earned himself the nickname ‘Doug the rug’. He played his first international ODI against Pakistan in the same year and has been a regular in the lineup of the team from Down Under ever since. Fondly known as Eagle, he is a thinking bowler with quick arm action. Bollinger continued to improve his statistics and by the second half of 2010, he was averaging less than 25 in Tests and ODIs and had an economy rate of less than five in the shorter format. This achievement is remarkable in an age where pitches are mostly batsman-friendly. Bollinger has also been impressive as the attacking bowler for the IPL team, the Chennai Super Kings.
