Vincent Kompany is a Belgian footballer and he also play for Manchester United. He was born on April 10, 1986, in Uccle, Belgium.

Kompany started his professional career with Belgian club Anderlecht. He spent three years there before moving to German club Hamburger SV in 2006. While his stint with Anderlecht proved to be extremely fruitful- he won several awards during his time here, including the Belgian Golden Shoe and the Belgian Ebony Shoe- Kompany’s time at Hamburger wasn’t as impressive; he suffered an injury during his opening season with club and was out of action for most of it. Despite this, he was selected for the 2007 UEFA U-21 championship

In 2008, Manchester City bought out kampany for an undisclosed fee, but it’s speculated that the amount was about six million pounds. Here, he displayed the ability to play both as a center back and as a holding midfielder. The Belgian played a vital role for City in 2008-09, but was hindered by injuries once again in the following year. Solid and reliable Kompany is a composed player who is always committed to the cause. A great asset to the club, he has been named the captain of Manchester City for the 2011-12 season.
